Top 5 Drug Store Nail Polishes

Hello!

I am very aware that in Australia it is summer and I should be celebrating bright, happy colours but I have been (per usual) resorting to what I find comfortable. These consist of primarily darker colours, independent of what time of year it is. My wardrobe and accessories consist of dark colours against neutrals - navy, plum, blacks and greys. It's something I'm trying to change, but for now I'm going to share my favourite nail polishes, excuse the darkness and I apologise - I do know it's summer!

You will soon be able to see what two of my favourite polish brands are, and these are all drugstore purchases so they are not pricey.

1. Rimmel London Kate Moss SHADE: 706 Classical Red
2. Rimmel London Kate Moss SHADE: 361 Acid House

3. Sinful Colors SHADE: 1503 Copper Pot

4. BYS SHADE: Blue Buzz

5. BYS SHADE: Matte Black

The Sinful Colors one is a particular favourite in the autumnal months or anytime of the year when it's particularly cosy. All of these I would wear any month of the year and they are my essentials! I would always recommend BYS, as they apply really easy and have a reasonably quick drying time. This was my first ever Sinful Colors varnish and I was pleasantly surprised by how lovely and detailed the colour was.

Happy polishing!

Much love,

Duchess

Daily Embarrassment Dosage

Greetings!

I have been having a really excellent week at school. Although I'm meant to be getting loaded up with more work than I could ever have imagined - my stress levels have been down and I've been prioritising and actually working. This could also be because the homework I have now actually interests me and it doesn't feel like a chore I have to complete.

Anyway, maybe I just haven't been conscience of it before or it's all just psychological so it's happening more frequently but I have recently become increasingly aware of what situations I put myself in unnecessarily. Not that it's majorly impacting on my life but the amount of times I become flushed and embarrassed in a day is probably a bit more than an average person.

For example, in one day I managed to both walk into the boys bathroom unintentionally (for future reference, boys bathrooms smell horrible) and tell my friend about some romantic suspicions I had, without realising the person connected to these suspicions was standing right beside me. I've also come to notice how, either:

a) My friend have gotten used to it and so don't find it peculiar that I manage to make a fool out of myself, or;
b) My friends are really good about it and decide not to dwell on the fact that I being related to them in some way may potential ruin or dramatically affect their social standing for no other reason apart from my ability to function in a coordinated manner

Either way I'm eternally grateful for their endless support and willingness to only hold onto these moments when vitally necessarily. Although only a couple of people I personally know know I run this blog, all of you guys rock my world. You should all tell me about the awkward/embarrassing moments you've had and how you overcame them.

Much love,

Duchess

20 Questions (learn about me!)

Hey!

Today I thought I'd do something fun and simple. I hope you enjoy :)

1. What is one thing you can't leave the house without?
My phone (iPod comes in at a close second though).

2. Favourite flower?
I know they wouldn't be classified as a flower but I really like succulents. My flower knowledge is limited but if I were to say one, I would say peonies or dahlias.

3. Favourite clothing store?
I would have to say Urban Outfitters (because they have absolutely everything I would ever need or want!), but other than that Cotton On and Mango.

4. Favourite perfume?
Classic Chanel 5, or Burberry Brit - absolutely love it!

5. Heels or flats?
Flats for everyday use but if going out formally then heels.

6. Do you make good grades?
I wouldn't say I make particularly good grades but I make decent grades. It's all a work in progress - watch this space.

7. Favourite colours?
I don't really have a particular favourite colour but I really like any shade of red, green and dark blues.

8. Do you drink energy juice?
No, I've never had reason to.

9. Do you drink juice?
Yes I do, but only half a glass in the morning. I'm very select about my juices though - I'm not very fond of orange or apple juice too much.

10. Do you like swimming?
With friends, yes I do, but I don't like swimming competitively.

11. Do you eat fries with a fork?
NO! I wouldn't be able to manage.

12. Favourite moisturiser?
For my body I like Aveeno, but for my face I use Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturising Gel and I love it. It's not oily and it leaves me feeling refreshed, clean and my skin smooth and supple.

13. Do you want to get married later on in life?
Definitely, but very far on. I would like to finish all my education, travel and experience the world a little bit before I even consider settling down.

14. Do you get mad easily?
No, I wouldn't say that I do. However, I do get annoyed quite easily. I tend to bottle it up and tell someone I trust about it later. I always think it's better to get stuff out of your system to someone you know will keep it safe rather than keep all your emotions confined to yourself. Compressing feelings never leads to anything good.

15. Are you into ghost hunting?
Never even considered it, but now that you mention it...

16. Any phobias?
Common phobias - death, oblivion. Nothing out of the ordinary.

17. Do you bite your nails?
No, but I used to have a serious problem with nail biting. I've stopped and they're healthy, however I now have a problem with picking my nails and the skin around them which can lead to some ugly scabbing.

18. Have you ever had a near death experience?
No, but once I went to the beach with my cousins and I wasn't a very experienced swimmer (I would've been around 5) and I was literally clinging onto my cousins arm to keep my head above water and I let go of him and I drank so much sea water that I thought my lungs were going to explode. I was taken to hospital, and I think most of it was in my head, because nothing was found to be wrong.

19. Do you drink coffee?
No, I don't find the taste of coffee appealing at all. I'm definitely a tea person but even then I don't drink too much tea - about a mug of tea a week. I also especially like chai teas and green teas.

20. Do you have any pets? If so, what pets?
I do! I have one puppy (he's actually nine but he'll always be a puppy to me) and he's an English Springer Spaniel. He's my best friend and I talk to him for hours on end.

Tell me about your pets, and if you don't have any, what pets would you like to have. I hope you liked reading this, thank you.

Much love,

Duchess
